Cala de Enmedio is another of the pearls of Cabo de Gata that we would like to present to you today. It is one of the favourite coves of many of the well-informed visitors who visit this area of Almeria. And it has also been selected many times as one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. It is located right in the middle of Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park.
Cala de enmedio, a treasure in Cabo de Gata
Undoubtedly, in this area you can find many "virgin" places, as it is an area that is well cared for in this respect. It is not an exploited coast full of villas and hotels. But there are always coves that are quieter and more hidden than others and this is what happens with the Cala de enmedio, which is a small, quiet, unspoilt cove away from the crowded areas.
The best way to enjoy the Enmedio Cove
The Enmedio cove is a cove of fine sand, which has no stones or rocks. This helps its clean waters to become crystal-clear waters that we should enjoy. And we, as always, recommend you to do it in the best possible way, which is snorkelling. Its fine sand and crystal clear waters give us a perfect view to enjoy the seabed of Almeria.
Another feature of its geography is its fossilised dunes, which are another attraction for visitors and tourists, as well as for photography lovers. These dunes go deep into the sea, so walking over them and exploring them is another of the cove's charms.
Be aware that this cove is far from any services you might need during the day. There are no litter bins or daily cleaning, so, as always, you have to be respectful and take everything you brought with you.
How to get to Enmedio cove
Cala de Enmedio is not accessible by car, but on foot or by sea. If you do it on foot, you'll have a long walk, but it's totally worth it. Here we leave you our favourite way to arrive and their two ways to get there on foot.
Kayaking to the Enmedio Cove
This will undoubtedly be the best way to get to the cove. We, obviously, are in favour of touring the entire coast by kayak, as the excursions that you can do around Cabo de Gata are a spectacle. Stop at each one of them and enjoy the wonders that each one offers us.
How to get to Enmedio cove from Agua Amarga
For to reach the Cala de Enmedio from Agua Amarga you will have to walk 2 kilometres of nothing. It's 2km with a bit of a slope, but we assure you it's worth it. We recommend you wear good shoes just in case. We don't want anyone to walk in flip-flops and then get chafing.
How to get to Enmedio cove from Cala Plomo car park
If you want to go from Plomo Cove to Enmedio Cove you can do it very easily. You can reach Cala Plomo itself by car, and from here you have to walk past the remains of the old waterwheel there. From here there is a fairly narrow path of 1.7 kilometres. This route can be done in 20 minutes.
A stop at Enmedio cove (either on foot or by kayak) to enjoy its fine golden sand is a must.
