Do you want to visit the Granadella beach from Jávea but don't know where to park?
One of the most beautiful beaches on the Alicante coast is Cala Granadella, located in Jávea, about 160m long. It is a pebble cove with crystal clear turquoise waters, perfect for water sports such as snorkelling and scuba diving.
And if I go by car, where do I park in Granadella?
Due to the beauty of the Granadella cove there are many visitors who want to go there, especially in summer, you should bear in mind that the beach has a couple of car parks provided by the town hall itself, however their capacity is not bigger than for dozens of cars.
Therefore, if you want to go to the beach and park on Granadella beach itself in high season or weekends, the only option is to go early in the morning. Only the early risers park just a few metres from the beach. Moreover, since the pandemic, the capacity is controlled by the authorities.
Although it is true that there is a train to go down to Granadella with departures every hour (this is going to start this summer 2022). The departure is in Jávea, for 3€, a very good option to visit the cove in an easy and comfortable way as you won't have to look for a parking space (which will be very limited and controlled). The train will be running from mid-June.
So, if you can't or don't want to go at that time, you should know that there is a car park but at a greater distance. The town hall has set up a parking area but it may take you about 15 minutes to walk to the beach itself.
By the way, once you have been able to enter Cala Grandella we recommend that you do some of the activities available to discover what lies beyond the beach itself, as there are caves, coves and small treasures around the cove that can only be reached by sea. Where to park in Granadella in May, September, October...?
That's why we recommend that you go at the end of summer, so it will be much easier to find parking (you'll have the opportunity to get to know the beach better and more relaxed). At this time of year there is no capacity control and not so many visitors, so you will be able to park quite easily in the car park.
If you are a walker or hiker, you may be interested to know that from the cove's car park there is a short walk to the beach. hiking route that will take you to the "Castell de la Granadella".
