Cala dels Testos is a small cove situated in the Costa Blanca coastal town of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell and is considered one of the few natural beaches whose condition has not remained unchanged. You will be amazed to see that it is quite far away from the urban development that you usually find in this area. In fact, its access by "land" is quite difficult, which is probably why the cove still maintains its charm and nature. Now we will tell you more about the route and the access to Cala dels Testos.
The charm of the Cala dels Testos cove
If you see a photo of Cala dels Testos from above you will fall in love, as the small cove is located in the middle of the sea. guarded by the Morro Falquí, located between rocky walls that rise some 100 metres high, leaving at its feet a small paradisiacal cove with clean, turquoise waters.
The access to Cala dels Testos
To access the cove of testos by land you will have to do a slightly complicated route, not suitable for people with vertigo, as to access it you will have to thaw out on several ropes divided into three sections that you will see after doing a route.
Nowadays, this access is more controlled due to the numerous rescues that have had to be carried out by people who have decided to access the Cala dels Testos without the right footwear or with children without sufficient skills to access it. You should bear in mind that access is complicated, and that you will find ravines and stretches where you will have to descend with the help of ropes and on limestone rock walls that are quite slippery. This stretch to reach the cove is known as the "Barranc de l'infern" (Hell's ravine) and this name gives you an idea of what the access is like. But it's not impossible. If you are in good shape, have good shoes, descent material, etc... you can get there, although we recommend that you think about it a couple of times and that you do it with caution.
The best way to access Cala dels Testos is by water.
At Marinalia we are lovers of water activities and in this case we recommend 100% if you don't feel like venturing on its complicated access route by land.
This time we recommend this excursion in boat to the Cala de los Testos and to Llebeig Cove. It will be the easiest, most comfortable and fun way to discover this treasure of Benitachell and come out of it safe and sound 100%. This excursion starts in the port of Moraira, one of the closest ports to Cala dels Testos. From here the trip starts and you will make stops to enjoy the coves, the turquoise and clean waters and to have a quiet swim and snorkel in the area. This is the best way to get there, as from Cala del Moraig (another cove in Benitatxell) at the moment it is not allowed to take a kayak or rent one to do your own route.
Cala dels Testos car park
It takes about 30-45 minutes from the car park to the cove of Cala dels Testos. This parking area is located above the Moraig cove, in the car park just before the descent to the beach. In summer it is a very busy area, so you should arrive very early in the morning to be able to park.
A few metres from the car park you will see an information panel with the route and you will also see the information panel with the route to the Cave of the TestosAnother place we recommend you to visit and enjoy the views.
