Moraira and its coves

It is true that Moraira not only stands out because of its coves and beachesBut for many other things, such as the gastronomy, the tranquillity in winter, the activity in summer, its shops... but the Calas de Moraira are its main attraction, that's just the way it is.

You will have heard many positive comments and opinions about them, and today you are going to find out why.

This will depend on what each person is looking for. Some people are looking for quiet, rocky coves, without sand... others are looking for a sandy, comfortable cove where children can play.

Cap Blanc cove in Moraira

This is a small cove in the town of Alicante which is about 200 metres long. It is quite small, but it has a lot of charm. It is touching the coastal area of the town of BenissaSo you can also hear that this cove, in particular, belongs to the municipality of Benissa. But we are not going to get into this, because you never know who is not reading...

It is not as crowded as other beaches. We say "so" because until a few years ago this cove did not receive many visitors, but nowadays this is unavoidable.

Here you will find a part where you have easy access by normal stone steps. And then you will come to the flat rocks where you can enjoy swimming. On the other hand, there is another area where you will have to go through a narrow passage (you have to be careful) and go down some metal stairs that are hooked to the wall. It really is one of the best coves in the area.

L'Andragó Cove

This is another of Moraira's charming coves. Its access is not as hidden as Cala Cap Blanc (or Punta de las Estrellas). This beach is 150 metres long and has perfect crystal clear waters.
From its rocks you can see the village of Moraira, although it is not really far, as from the centre you can walk along the promenade along the coast and the road.

This cove in Moraira is more "commercial" in a way, as its car park is full of chic restaurants and beach bars. And like all the coves in Moraira, snorkelling is a must.

Ampolla beach

moraira coves, ampolla beach

The busiest beach in Moraira. It is urban, as it is located in the town. It is actually the least quiet beach, as it is perfect for children and families. And as you might have guessed, this one is sandy.

It is very easy to get there, as there is a large car park where you can park your car right next to the sand. And of course, you can park anywhere in the town, as you can reach l'Ampolla in just a few steps.

Here you will have a beach bar where you can eat or have a snack. And of course, as it is an area with a lot of people, you can also take a walk in the beach. kayak excursion in Moraira and discover the surroundings. And we really recommend it, as it will be a good way to be comfortable on the sand and at any time go for a walk and discover other coves without having to move the car.

Cove, beach... whatever you call it, this is a pretty special one. El Portet is a narrow beachThe sea is getting higher and higher, leaving only a few metres to leave the towels. But for now we still have years to enjoy it.

Although it is a comfortable sandy beach, you should not imagine it to be as crowded as the beach of l'Ampolla, as this one is quieter. Its waters are also usually crystal clear.
We can consider it semi-urban, as it is "far away" from the centre of town, but around the beach there are many little bars and restaurants, and villas. Therefore, we can say that it is "semi-urban". Here you can find more information and things you should know about Playa del Portet.

Coves Moraira, El Portet

Les platgetes

This is one of the local sandy coves. Many years it receives the prestigious BLUE FLAG which rates the best beaches in the community. It is not a large beach either, as we know, what makes Moraira so charming are its small coves.

At the top of the beach there is a small promenade with a garden and lawn from which you can enjoy amazing views. This beach also has a car park where you can find very good restaurants.

Enjoy Moraira, its beaches and coves and its gastronomy.

We always recommend you to visit the coves of Moraira, but not only to enjoy its landscapes and waters, but also to get to know all the charms that the town has to offer.

Lunch or dinner in one of its restaurants is a must. You can't leave Moraira without enjoying its gastronomy.

And although we haven't mentioned it, if you get tired of the tranquillity of the beach, we invite you to visit its port. Here you will be able to cool activities to set off the day. Here are a few:
