Cala del Mallorquí, Calpe's little-known unspoilt cove

The white coast is full of secret caves and virgin beaches that look like something out of a postcard from the Caribbean. In this case, paradise is to be found in Calpewithin walking distance of the Les Bassetes Marina and the Calalga Cove.
Transparent turquoise waters and flat rocks that make it easy to swim, a shallow beach perfect to enjoy with the family, as long as we have a good pair of water shoes or booties to avoid slipping caused by the algae that live on its rocky platforms.
Can you imagine being able to enjoy this little corner of paradise with little traffic?

The Mallorquí calpe

The Mallorquí cove, possibly the last unspoilt stretch of Calpe's coastline.

With a length of approximately 30 metres and a width of 5 metres, we can enjoy wonderful crystalline waters that invite us to practice sports such as snorkelling or scuba diving and discover the underwater life found in this area.
Its calm waters will invite you to spend a day of sun and beach out of the ordinary, as we are usually used to the hustle and bustle of the most famous beaches, in this case we can enjoy, possibly, the last corner of peace of the coast of Calpe.
As it is an unspoilt cove, there are no services of any kind, but you can find them very close by, both in Les Bassetes and Calalga.

This quiet corner of the Calpe coast may go unnoticed by many of the walkers who stroll along the Benissa Ecological Promenade, as its access is hidden among pine trees, it is cut off and the stairs leading down to the cove have been demolished, so in order to access it you have to make a descent that can be dangerous, so we encourage you to go prepared to have to overcome the occasional obstacle.
The reward is clearly spectacular, as when you reach the bottom you will be able to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Mallorquí cove, a little corner of peace that is hard to find on the Mediterranean coast.

Can I access the Mallorquí cove by kayak or paddle sup?

Access the Mallorquí cove in a kayak or paddle sup is one of the best options, as you will avoid having to descend through complicated places and cut off at the pass.
You can choose to rent a kayak from Calpe to start the kayak trip from the beach. La Fossa beach to the Mallorquí cove, from where you will be approximately 1.5 kilometres away and an estimated duration of 35 minutes, always depending on the water and wind conditions.

Is there a car park in Cala Mallorquí?

Access by car is from the Calpe-Moraira road, you will find a sign indicating the location of the cove and once you enter the cove you will enter an urbanisation of houses and villas where you can park on the street, always keeping an eye out for fords and areas where parking is not permitted. If you want to park your car in peace, we recommend parking at the Les Bassetes Marina and walking to the Mallorquí cove from the Paseig Ecológic de Benissa (Benissa Ecological Promenade).
