The 3 best beaches in Conil de la Frontera

Conil de la Frontera is one of the Andalusian destinations most highly valued by tourists, being on numerous occasions considered as one of the most loved and attractive towns for tourists.

Its narrow streets, its essence of a fishing village and its white colour, make Conil one of the destinations that you should not miss if you are planning to visit this Andalusian coast. I'm sure you have read this on countless occasions about other towns, it is true that it is something very recurrent in most tourist destination blogs, but believe me that in this case these lines that I have written in this paragraph are 100% faithful to reality. If not, I invite you to go by yourself to Conil and then tell me what you think. If I was really exaggerating or if it really is a tourist destination you can't miss.

Which beaches in Conil de la Frontera to visit?

Well, at the point that you are thinking about or have already decided to go to Conil, one of the situations you will find yourself in is: Which beaches in Conil de la Frontera to visit? Well, as I know that time is money and especially when we visit a destination on our holidays, today I have prepared this post where I talk about, according to my biased opinion, the 3 best beaches in Conil de la Frontera.

In my opinion, the coves of Roche are the best beach area in Conil. Roche beach is characterised by its natural environment and by being formed by seven contiguous and rocky coves, of different shapes and sizes, embedded in the cliff.

    • Cala EncendidaThe largest one is located in front of the Roche residential area.
    • Cala ÁsperaThe second in size and in front of the Hotel
    • Frailecillo Cove
    • Duck Cove
    • Medina CoveCove with little sand.
    • Tío Juan de Medina Cove
    • Lighthouse Cove: The smallest
  •

In these coves of Roche you can relax, disconnect and if you like snorkelling, don't forget to take your mask and snorkel to enjoy this paradise. These coves are located under the cliff of Cabo Roche where the Roche tower of the 16th century, also known as Faro de Roche, is located and make this place a beautiful area to enjoy its seabed.

2. Fuente del Gallo Beach

If you like the beach during the day, with its beach bar, its beer and its waves hitting your back... but you also enjoy watching a sunset, as the sun goes down over the horizon of the Mediterranean, the beach of Fuente del Gallo is your beach in Conil. It has one of the most spectacular sunsets you can remember and the reddish colour of the cliffs that escort it and define it is a cinematic sight.

This beach is 1 kilometre long but only 25 metres wide, in fact, when the tide comes in, the sandy area of this beach is hidden. Nevertheless, this beach is quite popular with families (as it has little waves and very little depth) and because it is one of the beaches with the greatest variety in water activities in Conil has.

3. La Fontanilla Beach

La Fontanilla beach is one of the beaches in Conil de la Frontera most frequented by tourists and visitors to this Andalusian town. Its 1.2 kilometres of beach and the fact that it is located parallel to the promenade, make this beach the most visited by families and groups of friends in Conil.

It is a beach where there are few waves, its sand is fine and golden, it is very wide, and when the tide goes out it is very pleasant to walk along the shore getting your feet wet. In addition, on this beach you can also find beach bars and restaurants where you can taste the authentic gastronomy of Cádiz.

Conil de la Frontera's beaches in winter too

As I said in the introduction to the post, Conil is one of the most beautiful towns on the Andalusian coast, and proof of this is the number of tourists it receives during the summer season, with up to five times the number of inhabitants in the summer months.

But these beaches can be enjoyed not only in summer but also in winter. You should know that Conil de la Frontera is part of the Costa de la Luz, so you can get an idea of the brightness, joy and vitality that Conil has 12 months of the year.

In Conil in winter you can enjoy its natural beauty, its unspoilt areas and the peace and relaxation of these fabulous beaches of fine golden sand.
