This area of the coast is so called because it was the place where, centuries ago, sailors would dock their ships or sailing vessels for a while to stock up on provisions and, we imagine, if the legend does not deceive us, many barrels of rum. Then they would return to work, their holds full, in search of a galleon, probably Spanish, to board and steal the merchandise they were bringing from the New World.<\/p>
